About Us
Who We Are
We are a community of young professionals and students in Greece and other countries, connecting with the global nuclear network. Our mission is to drive dialogue, share knowledge and promote nuclear energy as a part of a sustainable future.
- A brief history: Founded in March 2025, by the brothers Giannis & Marios Chalaris.
- Affiliation: Hellenic YGN is part of IYNC (International Youth Nuclear Congress).
Our Vision
To see Greece actively contributing to and benefiting from a safe, sustainable, and innovative nuclear sector, with informed public engagement and youth leadership.
Driving public policy dialogues and recommendations, bring the nulear in greece as the next generation, and cooperate with other countries and under close coordination with the European Union.

What we do
- Events & Conferences:
- Organize workshops, seminars, webinars, lectures, panel discussions on nuclear energy, safety, waste management, innovation, etc. In Greece and via partnerships with international bodies.
- Education & Outreach:
- School/university visits
- Public talks / webinars
- Publishing articles, reports, infographics in Greek and/or English
- Research & Projects:
- Collaborations among students / young professionals on technical research, policy studies, environmental impact, etc.
- Networking & Mentorship:
- Connect younger members with more senior professionals; facilitate internships, job opportunities, collaboration with international bodies.
- Advocacy & Dialogue:
- Promoting public understanding and policy dialogue on nuclear in the context of climate change, energy security, sustainability.
- International Collaboration:
- Partnering with YGN chapters across the world for webinars, cross-dialogues, and major youth events.
- Scientific Visits:
- Organizing visits to nuclear reactors, research laboratories, and scientific centers like CERN, while engaging with communities to build trust and understanding.
